I'm new to this technical stuff--like managing a discussion board.  So please be patient with me as I try to figure it out.  If you can show me how to improve the board, please speak up!

The Aimoo Board is free.  But I'm told that in a month or so the honeymoon will be over and we'll have lots of ads.  If you don't like the ads maybe you can help me cover the cost of a "Diamond Account" (Ad-free and other benefits).  If everyone is willing to contribute just $5, we won't have the ads and may be able to make other improvements to the board (like we can get an easy-to-remember domain name).

Suggestions--what do you think of the title?  I've already christened this board three times, but I don't know... I'm just no good at creative stuff like coming up with catchy names.  So if  you have any ideas, please let me know.  In about a month or so we'll stay with whatever we've got--either this one by default or whatever better one you can come up with.  Ditto with categories--have I missed something?  Is there a category description that you would improve or change?  Trust me, I have no pride in ownership--I am open to any  (reasonable) suggestions.

Hi Praire,

I am so glad to be here.  Thank you again.  Two suggestions-

1-I wonder if it wouldn't be better if the name was a bit more common place.  I think many like us search the internet, but if it hadn't been for Ned Flanders plug about this place in his blog I would have had no idea what is going on in here.  I probably would have assumed that it had something to do with the middle east.  As for a new name...hmmm.  That IS hard and I can understand your dilemma. I can't think of anything right off the bat but I'l get back to you when I do.

2-I was also thinking, in addition to support, doctrine, and introductions that it might be nice to have another forum devoted to the joy, love, and hope we feel with our families and our spouses.   Even if it is hard to see it at times-there are so many great things that happen in our unique and blessed families.  Personally it is inspiration and the experience of our families hopes and dreams that keep me afloat.  It is hard when I think of what I don't have, but everything slides into perspective when I realize what I do have. I think that our families are not less than those who have the temple sealing in this life or who have all family member active in church service.  Our spouses are no less, either.  And though it might be hard at times to feel united when it seems there is such a gulf in belief we share with our spouses, there are also some wonderful reasons why we stay with them and work out our differences.  I honestly think the women and man  who have posted here have much to teach others in the church about solid Christian virtues like faith, hope, love, and the true meaning of enduring to the end.

Just my two cents!

Hello all,

I don't really fit into the purpose of this board, but I think it's awesome and has been needed for a long, long time. Thanks prairie chuck for creating it and getting it going!

I have a few suggestions for a name for the board, mostly just as stepping stones to get to something reasonable and hope they will spark some ideas from others ...

On one hand I think maybe the title should have "love" somewhere in there since I think that's the most important part of a marriage ... there's a scripture in the D&C that has the line "Together in Love" which I think would be nice, but it's not very catchy, and maybe it kind of gives the wrong impression as to the purpose of the board.

Another idea I had was "Faith in Relationships" ... I think the double-meaning is great (having faith in your relationships that they can work out, as well as having faith in religious principles while being in a relationship where those beliefs may not be shared). And it more centrally points out what this board is all about. The only problem I can see with this one is that it doesn't have any particular LDS significance, it seems to more generally apply to interfaith marriages, but maybe that's a good thing? Anyway, glad to see this board and hope it's helpful for lots and lots of people!

Hello P.C. I am new to this board, but really like what I have observed so far. I also like the idea of an ad-free board. I am MORE than happy to forward to you $5, from time to time to support a no ad policy. Reason being that I am legally blind and have found in the past that I cannot handle too much business. Where do I send my contribution and how??? Thanks Hope-Eternal

Hello, again, Prairie Chuck - In my previous post I forgot to say that I really like the name "Faces East" and its implication to the rising sun, optimism, and faith. I don't know...but that is my thought. I also like the "emotions" you and other subtle things you have for us. Most of all I appreciate all you have done to make this board possible. I think there are many of us out here who will benefit from your effort. Thank you very much.

Hi Prairie Chuck,

Please let me know where I can forward the five dollars to. I'm happy to pay and think it's a great site.

I must be dense, but what does DH stand for! I know who we're all referring to when the term is used but what does it stand for? THanks from the newby!
